Who’s Playing
Sacred Heart @ Columbia
Current Records: Sacred Heart 3-7; Columbia 3-8
What to Know
The Sacred Heart Pioneers will hit the road for the sixth straight game as they head to Francis S. Levien Gymnasium at 8 p.m. ET on Monday. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
The Pioneers came up short against the Rhode Island Rams last Tuesday, falling 72-62. Sacred Heart’s loss shouldn’t obscure the performances of guard Alex Watson, who had 14 points, and guard Tyler Thomas, who shot 7-for-14 from downtown and finished with 30 points.
The Columbia Lions had lost three consecutive heartbreakers to the Albany Great Danes, and they left with a heavy heart again this past Saturday. The Lions were just a bucket shy of a win and fell 60-59 to Albany.
Barring any buzzer beaters, Sacred Heart is expected to win a tight contest. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
The losses put Sacred Heart at 3-7 and Columbia at 3-8. The Pioneers are 2-4 after losses this season, Columbia 2-5.
